General information on data processing
Scope of the processing of personal data
We process the personal data of our users strictly only insofar as this is necessary for the provision of a functional website and our content, services and optimisation thereof. The personal data of our users is processed either on the basis of the user’s consent or on the basis of statutory provisions that permit the processing of the data.
Legal basis for the processing of personal data
Personal data is processed on the basis of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or national legislation. As a rule, one of the conditions of Art. 6 (1) GDPR is fulfilled in the processing of personal data, such that the lawfulness of data processing is ensured. This may include the consent of the data subject, the necessity for fulfilment of a contract or for execution of precontractual measures or the legitimate interest of the controller or a third party.
Data erasure and storage duration
The personal data of data subjects is deleted or restricted as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies. Storage may be prolonged if this is provided for by the European or national legislator in legal Union directives, laws or other provisions to which the controller is subject. A restriction of processing or erasure of data shall take place once a storage period prescribed by the above-mentioned regulations expires.
Rights of the data subject
The data subject generally has the right to access information about relevant personal data as well as to rectify, delete or restrict processing or to object to processing. The data subject also has the right to data portability. Should the data processing be based on the consent of the data subject, the data subject may withdraw their consent at any time without this affecting the lawfulness of processing conducted based on this consent prior to withdrawal. Moreover, the data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Provision of the website and creation of log files
Description and extent of data processing
Each time our website is visited, our system automatically collects data and information from the system of the accessing computer.
The following data is collected in this connection:
(1) Information on browser type and the version used
(2) Operating system of the user
(3) Internet service provider of the user
(4) IP address of the user
(5) Date and time of access
(6) Websites from which the system of the user accessed our website
(7) Websites which are accessed from the system of the user via our website
The data is stored in the log files of our system. This data is not stored with other personal data of the user.
Purpose of data processing
The temporary storage of IP addresses by the system is necessary in order to enable the provision of website content to the computer of the user. For this purpose, the IP address of the user must be stored for the duration of the session.
Data is stored in log files in order to ensure the functionality of the website and the security of our information technology systems. Data analysis for marketing purposes does not take place in this context.
Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis for the temporary storage of data and the log files is provided by the legitimate interest of the controller according to Art. 6 (1) f) GDPR. The legitimate interest in data processing relates to the interest in a functional and secure website.
Duration of storage
The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the fulfilment of the purpose for which the data was collected. In the event of data collection in order to provide the website, this is the case once the respective session ends.
In the event of data storage in log files, this is the case by no later than three months. Prolonged storage is temporarily possible in cases of technical or security-relevant problems.
Option of withdrawal and erasure
The collection of data in order to provide the website and the storage of data in log files is strictly necessary for the operation of the website. Consequently, the user does not have an option of withdrawal.
Use of cookies
Description and extent of data processing
When accessing websites with forms, a session cookie (text files stored on your computer) is placed for technical reasons. Should the browser not accept any cookies, the web server will not be able to check the validity of the form contents and accept the contents.
Purpose of data processing
The purpose of using technically necessary cookies is to simplify the use of the website for users. Some functions of our website (webpages with forms) cannot be offered without the use of cookies for technical reasons.
The user data collected by the technically necessary cookies is not used to generate user profiles.

Duration of storage, option of withdrawal and erasure
Cookies are placed on the user’s computer and sent by the computer to our website. As the user, you therefore have full control over the use of cookies. By changing the settings in your Internet browser, you are able to deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies. Cookies that have already been saved can be deleted at any time. This can also take place automatically. If cookies are deactivated for our website, it is possible that not all the functions of our website will be available for use.

Your data is necessary for a decision on the acceptance of an abstract and shall be processed on the basis of your consent according to Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR. The data will not be shared with third parties without your consent and therefore also not sent to third countries. If a decision is not taken to accept the abstract, your data shall be deleted following the notice of rejection. If a decision is taken to accept the abstract submission, your data and documents shall be published on our website following provision of your consent.
