Dr. JAN KOETSENRUIJTER

Jan Koetsenruijter is currently working as data-analyst at the Department of General Practice and Health Services Research, University Hospital Heidelberg. He studied sociology in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, where fundamental topics such as inequality and rationalization where addressed using predominantly quantitative research methods. After working for a couple of years as a research employee at the Scientific Institute for Quality of Healthcare (IQ healthcare), Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre, he wrote his PhD thesis on an international study which focused on self-management for diabetes patients in deprived areas and used a social network approach. During a year in Denmark he gained experience in working with large scale population data for a project on prostate cancer screening and since 2017 he is based in Heidelberg. There he is working on different analyses of claims-based data and combining that with social network approaches.
