Prof. Franz Hackl studied Business Informatics. He holds a doctorate and habilitation in economics from the Johannes Kepler Universität Linz, Austria. He was a visiting scientist at the University of California Berkeley, USA. Since 2001 he has been an associate professor at the Institut für Volkswirtschaftslehre of the Johannes Kepler Universität Linz. He has published in the fields of industrial organization, environmental economics and health economics. Franz Hackl is particularly interested in industrial economic issues in the field of e-commerce markets. Most of his research interests are in the microeconometric analysis of large data sets in the field of industrial and health economics.
