Michaela Olm has been a research associate and PhD student at the Institute of General Medicine and Health Services Research at the Technische Universität München since July 2018 and is involved in the analysis of routine data. She is currently investigating the gatekeeping role of GPs in primary care and the impact of abolishing the practice fee. Her academic education took place in Munich. After completing her studies in "Scientific Principles of Sports B.Sc." at the Technische Universität München, she graduated in 2017 with the "Master of Public Health" at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. While studying for her master's degree, she was involved in a research internship in vascular surgery at the Klinikum rechts der Isar on issues of health services research and investigated the inpatient, operative care for patients with diabetes mellitus and concomitant peripheral arterial disease.
