Reinhard Bornemann comes from Heidelberg and is a physician and health scientist in Bielefeld.

Medical Activities: Medical Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin, 1987 licensed as a physician, 1988 Dr. med., 1987-89 physician in a district hospital in Zimbabwe and at the DRK Krankenhaus in Berlin as well as scientist at the Institut für Rechtsmedizin at the FU Berlin. 1989-2007 Städtische Kliniken Bielefeld. 1995 board-certified specialist in internal medicine and i. a. Infectiology. Since 2013 again as (senior) physician at the Klinikum Bielefeld.

Activities in Health Sciences: Since 1987 in the group of Prof. Dr. F. Bschor on infection epidemiology and addiction research. Since 1995 at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Bielefeld in research and teaching. 2000 Dr. Public Health and 2003 habilitation in Health Sciences. 2004 "Certificate Epidemiology" of the DGEpi and 2004-2008 spokesman of the AG Infektionsepidemiologie. 2007-2008 reviewer for IQWiG and RKI, 2008-2012/2013 substitute professorship for social medicine at the FH Bielefeld. The current Research Focus is antibiotic stewardship (ABS) in outpatient care.
