KRIS DOGGEN, MSc PhD

Kris Doggen is a quality-of-care expert at Sciensano, the Belgian public health institute, where he is currently heading the unit of Health Services Research. He obtained a master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences (2004) and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2011) from the University of Antwerp, Belgium. He has developed expertise in the implementation of initiatives aimed at improving quality of care in the domain of chronic diseases. During his research, he has propounded the use of flexible frameworks for the development of quality indicators, depending both on the goal of quality measurement and the way in which results will be published. He is a guest lecturer at the Artevelde University College (Ghent, Belgium), where he teaches nurses to interpret and act on quality-of-care data. Currently, he is kicking off the national implementation of the OECD PaRIS study in Belgium.
