Prof. MILENA VAINIERI, PhD

Prof. Milena Vainieri  is Associate Professor of Management in the Institute of Management at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa (SSSA), Italy, where she graduated with her PhD in Management in 2010 at SSSA.  Since 2014 she has being the deputy leader of the Management and Health laboratory of Pisa of SSSA. She is member of the executive board of the Institute of Management, the Equal Opportunities Committee of the SSSA and the independent evaluation board in the Nord West Local Health Authority. She is responsible for the Tuscan performance evaluation system since 2014 (http://performance.sssup.it/tosval). In 2016 she has been involved in the Joint Assessment Framework (JAF) in the Area of Health leaded by the European Commission, Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion. Her interests are on performance evaluation system, efficiency and governance mechanism in health care. In particular, she is responsible for research projects regarding healthcare management, performance evaluation and human resource staffing. She is author of various national and international publications including BMJ Open and Health Policy. She is associate editor for BMC Health service research.
