Dr. SEBASTIAN SCHMIDT-KAEHLER

Dr. Sebastian Schmidt-Kaehler is managing director of Patientenprojekte GmbH, an organization and management consultancy specializing in the field of patient communication, who in the most diverse contexts deals with the effective communication of health-relevant information, but also with the creation of user-friendly health services structures. He supports projects in Germany, Switzerland, Spain and Israel and works on behalf of companies, but above all for public authorities, non-profit organizations, foundations and associations.

From 2011 to 2015, the health scientist and educator was the national managing director responsible for the strategic and operational management of Unabhängige Patientenberatung Deutschland (UPD). Previously, Dr. Schmidt-Kaehler worked as Senior Project Manager at the Bertelsmann Stiftung and was involved in the development of the Weisse Liste, a website for patients to compare treatment quality in hospitals. Until then, he worked as a research assistant at the Bielefeld Faculty of Health Sciences. Dr. Schmidt-Kaehler is a member of the Deutsches Netzwerks evidenzbasierte Medizin, the Deutsche Vereinigung für Soziale Arbeit im Gesundheitswesen and the Deutschen Gesellschaft für systemische Beratung und Familientherapie (DGSF). He is also a member of the Expert Advisory Council on the Nationale Aktionsplan Gesundheitskompetenz and is a member of the board of trustees of the Weisses Liste gGmbH.
