PAUL A. BLEICHER, MD PhD

Paul Bleicher, MD, PhD, is the CEO of OptumLabs, a collaborative research and innovation center dedicated to improving health care through clinical, policy and product innovation driven by new insights from big data and artificial intelligence. Prior to OptumLabs, Dr. Bleicher was Chief Medical Officer for Humedica, a next-generation clinical informatics company. He also co-founded and was a leader at Phase Forward, which was instrumental in transforming pharmaceutical clinical trials from paper to the web. Dr. Bleicher has served as a leader in notable industry associations as the National Academy of Medicine’s Leadership Consortium for Value & Science-Driven Health Care and the Drug Information Association. He has received numerous awards for his industry leadership. Dr. Bleicher holds a BS from Rensselaer, as well as an MD and PhD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He began his career as a physician/investigator and assistant professor at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
