Dr. med. Lorena Dini, MScIH, HCM is a Principal Investigator, Head of Working Group Health Systems and Health Policy Research, Institute of General Practice and Family Medicine, Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Based in Germany, her research focuses on health systems and health policy, evaluation, global health and urban-rural imbalances of human resources for health in high-income countries. She has designed and implemented new interventions to improve regional strengthening of ambulatory health care service delivery based on a participatory and multiprofessional approach. Her research projects aim to generate evidence to inform health policy and practitioners. Funded by the national Innovationsfonds des Gemeinsamen Bundesausschusses, she is leading the Project „Frauen 5.0 ̶̶ Regional Health Care Service Provision by Gynecologists and General Practitioners for Women 49 Years of age and older (Grant Nr. 01VS16030), (2017 – 2019).

Her previous projects include: the “External Evaluation of the AGnES – Health System Intervention”, funded by The National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and the regional Associations of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (2008 – 2010) and the „Delegation-Study – state wide survey of all ambulatory GPs on Delegation to non-medical personnel in the GP-office “ conducted on behalf of the Health Institute of the Ministry of Health North Rhine-Westphalia (LZG.NRW), 2015 – 2017). Dr. Dini is active in national and international professional networks on health systems research and health policy and member of the Core Team of the Coalition of Partners of the World Health Organization – Europe office, the European Forum for Primary Health Care and the German Association of General Practitioners (DEGAM).
